COMPANY OVERVIEW

Naija Threads 727 is a fashion-forward custom clothing brand founded in November 2024 that blends modern style with the rich cultural heritage of Nigerian Ankara fabric. The company specializes in custom tailored blazers, vests, and accessories including ties, bow ties, suspenders, and Apple Watch bands. Each piece is designed to empower customers to express individuality while enjoying a precise, confidence boosting fit tailored to their unique body shape and style preferences.

Operating as a direct-to-consumer online brand, Naija Threads 727 serves fashion conscious, culturally proud consumers seeking high quality, personalized clothing that balances tradition with trend setting design. Unlike mass produced, one-size-fits-most fashion, the brand delivers garments designed to fit each individual’s measurements, style, and personality.

Naija Threads 727 differentiates itself through three key value drivers:

Customization at Scale - Each garment is individually tailored, transforming clothing into a personal expression of identity.

Cultural Fusion - Nigerian Ankara fabric anchors the brand in heritage while resonating with modern, global fashion trends.

Lifestyle Branding - More than clothing, Naija Threads 727 represents a lifestyle rooted in confidence, boldness, and individuality.

By addressing the lack of well-fitting, culturally representative apparel, Naija Threads 727 is positioned at the intersection of personalized fashion, ethical production, and modern cultural expression.

FOUNDER’S STORY

Chigö is a second-generation Nigerian immigrant who has visited Nigeria multiple times and regularly had custom clothing made during those trips. Their Nigerian outfits, made from Ankara fabric, known for its vibrant colors, bold patterns, and nonorthogonal shapes, consistently stood out, often drawing attention and sparking conversations.

They also noticed a growing fascination among millennials and broader Western audiences with West African culture, particularly Nigerian music and fashion. This cultural interest spans diverse ages, backgrounds, and communities.

In 2017, during a family trip to Nigeria, Chigö requested several garments, including a blazer. When time constraints prevented the seamstress from completing it, Chigö, experienced in sewing, took the fabric home and made the blazer and a matching tie themselves. The blazer consistently received compliments and purchase inquiries.

In January 2020, after being told, “I know at least three people who would wear that,” the idea for Naija Threads 727 was born - bridging Nigerian Ankara fabric with modern, non-traditional fashion.
